Resources for Living an Impactful Life

Here's how Habit / Accountability Coaching Works:

Goal accountability is about you achieving the goals that are important to you in the most time and cost effective method.

Ask yourself this question. 'What is the real cost to you of not achieving your goal?'

  • Missed opportunities such as lost income or better relationships?
  • Wasted resources such as time or money?
  • Frustration or depression?

Research shows that significant change and success is most likely to happen when:

  • You focus action in one important area of your life at a time.
  • You focus on small daily actions.
  • You have an effective accountability system in place.
  • You make use of best-practice research so you learn from the success of others.
  • You regularly review your goal and action plans.

The accountability coaching that I offer will help you:

  • Focus on one key area of your life at a time.
  • Determine appropriate daily steps to move you towards your goal.
  • Provide you with daily* accountability.
  • Provide you with the incentive, encouragement and motivation to take action.
  • Provides you with a guarantee of results or your money back. (See the Guarantee details below.)

When you commit to and follow through small daily actions you build up the habit of taking action that leads to lasting change. A common result of taking that initial step is that you end up doing more than you planned. But the focus needs to be on the small daily commitment so that you develop the habits that will eventually lead to the outcome you are looking for. (See examples below.)

Common Goals Areas

Examples of setting action commitments

Here are some examples that might make this clearer:

Example #1: Your goal is to improve your financial position by improving your business profits. Your commitment for the next 24 hours is to call one potential client and arrange a meeting.

Example #2: Your goal is to improve your physical health and you want to develop an exercise habit. Your commitment for the next 24 hours is walk to the corner of your block and home again which will take you about 3 minutes. When you go out you decide to continue walking further and so end up walking for 15 minutes. (This is an example of how sometimes just starting ends up resulting in you doing more.)

Example #3: Your goal is to improve your relationship with your partner. Your commitment for the next 24 hours is to thank them for one thing they have done. When you thank them it ends up leading to a longer conversation that helps you feel better about your relationship.

Example #4: Your goal is to create a better sleep routine. Your commitment for the next 24 hours is to not watch TV or use your phone for one hour before you turn out your light.

Example #5: Your goal is to improve your business by regularly reading business books. Your commitment is to read 1 page of your book. When you start reading you enjoy it and end up reading 10 pages.

By following through on your small commitment you might end up doing more. But if your initial commitment is too big (e.g. walk for 20 instead of 3 minutes) you might not have started at all.

The goal of this program is for you to create a habit by deciding on daily action and following it through each day for the next 14 days.

This is how a 2-week cycle commonly works:

Day 1: You send a text or have a phone call with me where:

1) You outline your specific goal for the next cycle. (It could be one of the areas you previously identified or something else that is currently important to you.)

2) You determine the one small action you will take in the next 24 hours to move you towards your goal.

3) I get your message and respond with suggestions and/or resources.*

4) You follow through on your commitment.

Day 2-14: Each day you will send a text ….

1) Outline how you went with the commitment from the previous 24 hours.

2) List the action that you commit to complete in the next 24 hours.

3) I will respond with suggestions and/or resources.*

*Daily accountability refers to Monday-Friday, and excludes public holidays. You still send a message every 24 hours, but I will respond on the next business day.
